All Tour Departures Cancelled Until July 1st, 2021

Vancouver Island and Whistler Tours Cancelled in Summer 2021

Updated 25 March 2021

With the ongoing impact of COVID-19 globally, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all Moose tours that were scheduled to depart prior to July 2021. In addition, we have cancelled all tour departures to Vancouver Island and Whistler in Summer 2021 (through September 2021). These decisions are based on the current and projected situation in Canada, with consideration of the existing border closure, expected quarantine and/or vaccination requirements when our borders do open, and the effects these factors will have on the number of potential travellers later this summer.

Not that at present, all Rockies tours with departures from July 1st, 2021 onward are still scheduled to go ahead, but we will be monitoring the situation closely and will update as necessary.

If you are currently booked to travel on ANY Moose tour departing prior to July 1st, 2021:

Moose passengers are our number one priority and our focus has always been on providing you with the biggest adventures for the best value – not on profit.  As such, cancelling tour departures is a huge hit to us as a small, local business.  We have been working since this pandemic began to make sure that we ride out this storm and can keep making memories with you.

In light of this, we would ask, if you are able, that you postpone your trip instead of cancelling and come adventure with us at a later time.  This will make a tremendous difference for our operations as a small business. You will receive credit to the value of 110%1,2 of payments you have already made towards the cost of your Moose tour. This credit will have no expiry date and can be applied against the cost of any future Moose tour. As an added thank you, we can also offer you a free night’s stay in a dorm room at either the Samesun Vancouver or Samesun Banff, before or after your trip. Note: if you choose to postpone, you do not have to decide on a new tour date at this time! We will simply hold your payment as credit until you know your new tour and departure date.

Of course, we understand this is not a feasible option for everyone, so if you are unable to postpone your trip you may cancel and receive a full refund.

We really hope you’re able to postpone your trip and come travel with us in future.  As a small, local company, the impact of this pandemic has been particularly hard-hitting on not only us, but also our partner hostels, restaurants, and activity suppliers. By choosing to postpone, you’re not only investing in your future travel happiness, you’re also helping support local tourism in the communities we visit.

If you booked your Moose tour directly with us, or with an online travel agency, we’ll be contacting you soon with more information about the choices we’ve presented above.

If you booked through another Moose partner, such as a traditional travel agency or working holiday program provider, we will advise that partner of your options. Please contact them regarding your booking.

1 The extra 10% credit has no cash value, i.e. you cannot be refunded in whole or in part for any unused portion of the extra credit. For example, if you have paid $1,000 for a tour, you will receive a credit of $1,100. If the future tour you wish to book is priced at $1,050, you will not need to make any additional payments, but you will not receive a refund of $50.

2 You will receive 100% credit if you booked with a special time-limited promotional discount.

The Vancouver Island and/or Whistler portion of your tour will not be operating in 2021, however at present, the Rockies portion is still scheduled. We will contact you or your travel agent with options including switching to a Rockies only tour, or postponing your tour until 2022.

Given the time span before your departure, and that the coronavirus situation and flight/border restrictions could change significantly during that time period, we are asking passengers to hold off on making any changes to their booking. However, should you wish to cancel your tour at this time, please be aware that our regular cancellation policy, as per our standard Terms & Conditions, would still apply.
