ADVENTURE TRAVEL GUIDE TO BANFF

If you like big peaks – you are in for a treat! Banff is the iconic Rocky Mountain destination! A hopping town centre with a party filled nightlife, surrounded by incredible mountains and easy access to hiking, biking or kayaking.

LakeMinnewanka
Rundle Mountain towers over Banff and offers these stunning reflections from Two Jack Lake. Experienced hikers complete this extreme hike up Rundle Mountain in around 8 hours round trip (the peak is nearly 3000 meters high). There are dozens of trails of easy and medium difficulty in Banff.

Banff has dozens of great bars and restaurants with live music nearly every night of the week. A party is always ready to happen! Get out in the wilderness during the day and experience Banff’s other kind of wild-ness by night!

PartyBanff
Check out the Elk & Oarsman for some local elk nachos, Melissa’s Missteak for big bands, or The Beaver Bar (at Samesun Backpackers) for fun events like trivia nights & open mic. For those late-night party goers there are a few night venues to choose from – Rose & Crown, Tommy’s and The Dancing Sasquatch.

Banff’s long summer days are filled with epic hiking trips up local mountains or lazy days hanging with mates by the Bow River. In the peak of summer it is light outside until after 10pm, so you can enjoy the long days exploring the Rocky Mountains (or grabbing beers on a patio).

BanffAve-cascade
Walking down Banff Ave (the main street) you’ll be surrounded by epic mountain scenery and classic chateau style architecture. It’s also not uncommon to see an elk or deer strolling down the street! Be ready for anything in Banff!
