At Moose Travel Network, we like to offer our travellers flexibility, as well as convenience. As such, we offer you a choice when it comes to tour accommodation. You can either take advantage of the convenience (and value) of booking the accommodated tour option, or choose to make your own accommodation arrangements by booking the non-accommodated tour option.

Accommodated Tour Option

If you book the accommodated tour option, your accommodation is included for all nights of the tour, in mixed gender, hostel dormitory rooms. The majority of our travellers book an accommodated tour because it provides the best value for your money since we receive discounts from our accommodation providers that aren’t available to the general public. Please note that you can request female only dorm rooms, and this is usually possible to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee it.

We choose hostels and backpacker properties for their budget value, as well as properties that offer great facilities while always providing a warm, friendly atmosphere. By staying in shared dorm rooms you get a chance to meet more people, hang out with other tour guests, and keep the price as low as possible. The hostel staff are often travellers too, and they’re great for helping plan your time in each destination, and for giving great local recommendations on where to eat, play and party!

Non-Accommodated Tour Option

If you book the non-accommodated tour option, you must book all nights of accommodation yourself (except at our wilderness hostel stay – see below). Moose will not include nor hold any accommodation reservations on your behalf in the overnight locations.

Note:

The only exception is our wilderness hostel stay (on any itinerary that travels from Banff to Jasper) where one (1) night of accommodation in a mixed gender, hostel dormitory bed is included on non-accommodated tours. There are no alternative accommodation properties nearby and no private rooms available at our wilderness hostels hence why this hostel overnight is included.

Pre and Post Tour Accommodation is NEVER Included

Regardless of whether or not you purchase an accommodated tour, you must ALWAYS book your pre and post tour nights in Vancouver and/or Banff yourself. For your convenience, we recommend staying at one of our hostel pick up locations, noting that we also drop off at these same locations.

Moose Accommodation Listings

Here is a list of the hostels we stay at on accommodated tours/packages. If you book a non-accommodated tour and wish to stay in hostel private rooms, we recommend booking at these same properties since that is where the majority of the other Moose travellers and your Moose driver/guide will be staying.

Please note there are no alternative accommodation options nearby, but we think you’re going to love this truly Canadian experience! Moose groups will stay at HI Athabasca Falls or HI Mosquito Creek depending on the tour instead of HI Rampart Creek, on a few specific dates.
