Accommodation

On Moose branded tours, your accommodation is included for all nights of the tour, in mixed-gender, hostel dormitory rooms with 4 to 6 beds. The only exception is in Revelstoke, where you will stay in a hotel room based on double-occupancy with 2 beds. Please note that you can request female-only dorm rooms, and this is usually possible to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee it.

We choose hostels and backpacker properties for their budget value, as well as properties that offer great facilities while always providing a warm, friendly atmosphere. By staying in shared dorm rooms you get a chance to meet more people, hang out with other tour guests, and keep the price as low as possible.

On non-camping tours operated by West Trek, hotel accommodation is included for all nights of the tour in same-gender rooms, based on quadruple-occupancy with 2 beds. Or, for an additional cost, you can upgrade to having your own bed or even your own room! There are numerous options available.

On camping tours operated by West Trek, you will sleep in a 2-person tent for all nights of the tour, sharing with one other tour guest of the same gender. Or, for an additional cost, you can upgrade to having your own tent! Camping gear, including tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mattress are provided.

One of the most popular overnights on our Moose branded tours is at an Icefields Parkway Wilderness Hostel. Our main property is HI Rampart Creek, which features a cozy fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and a wood-burning sauna! Please note that this is a semi-rustic experience with no running water, and solar and propane generated power. But we think you’re going to love this truly Canadian experience!

On the occasional departure, Moose groups may stay at HI Nordegg – Shunda Creek Wilderness Hostel or another property instead of at HI Rampart Creek.

The nights before and after your tour (pre and post) in Vancouver and/or Banff are not included. You will need to book these yourself. For your convenience, we recommend staying at one of our hostel pick up locations on Moose branded tours, noting that we also drop off at these same locations.

We definitely recommend arriving a few days before your tour starts and/or spending extra days after your tour ends to explore Vancouver and Banff. Both are world class destinations, in beautiful settings, with a lot to see and do!
